STRUCTURAL ASSUMPTIONS OF OTHER METHODS


In TheGmax the model structure itself is an unknown. With all other modelling methods the structure of the solution model is fixed (see below). So when an analyst chooses a particular method he automatically assumes that a particular predetermined structure contains the answer to his problem; thus ignoring an infinity of alternatives.

Most real world data sets describe highly non-linear and convoluted spaces. The assumption that 'one size fits all' is at best speculative and at worst just plain arrogance on the part of the statistical community.
