| I studied at the University of
Northumberland, graduating in 1983, and at Chelsea School of Art and Design, gaining a
Masters degree in Public Art in 1990. I am interested in how art work alters space and the way people think about the identity of a given site. I am interested in how the work can focus or question this identity. In rural sites this may bring in environmental or countryside management issues. I carve wood, or stone, or construct with cement and wood. I generally work in situ where there is public access so that I can discuss the work with people while it is being made. I also run workshops and give talks. Other public art I find particularly interesting is that of David Kemp who has work at Grizedale Forest and Hayes Galleria London. I am a member of the 2 by 4 Studios based in Crawley. We have run workshops and art projects in the South East area over the last 5 years, with both schools and adult groups.
